Climb with ebike ease from Coromandel Town to Tokatea at 413m above sea level. Travel through exclusive bush and forest tracks and down through White Star Station, well known for its bush lodges, hereford cattle, manuka honey and pony trekking. Your Colville destination features a very iconic store and a very cool café, Hereford “N” A Pickle. Bike past what was once the Tokatea Hotel now sited on Wharf Road. Further along is the old Colville butchery/bakery from 1875 only recently restored to its former glory. Stop off at the end of Wharf Road and imagine what was once a busy wharf dating back to the late 1890’s.
Return trip is via the very quiet Colville Road passing through some beautiful, tranquil seaside locations. Or better still, consider staying the night at Colville (see us for options) and soak up some more of this chilled out, relaxed location before returning the next day.
Take some refreshments and a picnic to enjoy along the way.
